Recently-knighted Sir Karl Jenkins returns to the Royal Albert Hall to conduct one of his best-loved works, The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace.

This popular choral/orchestral work was commissioned by the Royal Armouries Museum as part of the millennium celebrations and was given its world premiere at the Royal Albert Hall in April 2000. The resulting album has been in the classical chart for almost 700 weeks, cementing itself in the country’s consciousness.

On November 8 the English Concert Orchestra and English Concert Chorus will take to the stage at St. John's Smith Square to perform Kar's 'The Bards of Wales'. This will be the English premiere of this work.

The choir will be the English Concert Singers and English Concert Chorus, some of whom came to Budapest to sing in 2011 when Karl conducted the premiere performance in the new Bela Bartok Concert Hall.  The orchestra will be the English Concert Orchestra and will have four soloists including Rhys Meirion, the Welsh tenor, who has performed the work before in Hungary and New York.

World Premiere: "The Healer – A Cantata for St Luke"
St Lukes Church, Grayshott, Hampshire.

Grayshott Concerts, whose Patron is the world’s most performed living composer, Karl Jenkins, have commissioned him to write a 40-minute choral work to celebrate the group’s 10th Anniversary on 16th October 2014. The World Premiere with the Excelsis Choir, Marylebone Camerata and top-flight soloists conducted by the composer, will be performed exactly ten years to the day following the first fund-raising concert in 2004, and will be followed by a second performance the following day to accommodate some of the thousands of Jenkins fans around the world.
